WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY CELEBRATIONS, 1996

On 31st May,1996 SCOPE had organized a rally to mark the World No Tobacco Day Celebrations. This was in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh State Indian Dental Association, Mahila Dakshita Samithi and Rogi Sahayata Trust. The rally from Visveswarya Statue to Secretariat was launched by Mr.Dungarshi Bhai Maru

Speaking on the occasion Dr.Chandrakanth Rao explained that tobacco was the major cause of life threatening diseases like cancer and heart attack. Public is lured by the massive advertising by the tobacco companies. All the doctors who participated in the rally urged the Government to declare tobacco crop holiday to minimize its usage.
